When a family is displaced after a hurricane, when an adult with disabilities needs a grocery gift card to afford their holiday meal, and when a senior citizen is spending their first Christmas alone, Palmetto Project programs provide stability, support, and hope.

Holiday Assistance
Since 1990, Palmetto Project has provided the magic of the holiday season to thousands of Midlands families with children, senior citizens, and adults with disabilities in need in partnership with WIS News 10. Our incredible community of donors has made the Christmas season merry & bright for more than 80,000 total families in the Midlands.
Help us continue this special holiday tradition.
Back-to-School
Beginning in 2024, we expanded our FHF of the Midlands model beyond the holiday season to ensure that hundreds of Midlands children in need could start the school year with the supplies to succeed.
Because of all of YOU, our Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive has provided 3,100+ local students in need students with the supplies they needed to succeed since 2024.
LOWCOUNTRY
Holiday Assistance
Starting in 2025, FHF of the Lowcountry (FHFL) provides holiday assistance to more than 300 elementary, middle, and high school children from Charleston County School District and their families experiencing homelessness.
Help us make this new tradition of FHFL a success — and help make the holidays merry & bright for local children and families in need!
Back-to-School
In 2025, we launched 1st Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive with our Charleston County School District Title I partner school, Midland Park Primary School!
In partnership with our wonderful Lowcountry community, we have provided backpacks & school supplies for 600 Pre-K and K5 children in need since 2025!

The Magic of Story Time
Palmetto Project is the nonprofit partner of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in seven (7) SC counties.
We deliver story time to the mailboxes of 15,000+ children every month.
- Story time exposes children to nearly 300,000 more words by kindergarten and makes learning new subjects easier in the future.
- Story time forges bonds and forms positive memories between young children and their caregivers, which strengthens children’s resilience.
- Story time is a special time.
