South Carolina ranked 9th among the states in reducing the percentage of its children without health insurance from 2008 through 2010, according to a new Federal study.

Neighboring North Carolina ranked 15th while Georgia came in at 25th.

This is a testament to the Palmetto Project’s many volunteer teams and staff.   During this period, our Palmetto Children’s Health initiative (PCHI) oversaw a $1 million statewide initiative to provide insurance outreach and education, Medicaid enrollment assistance, and advocacy for families of the state’s 125,000 – now 100,000 – uninsured children.
